EUTT2019 Preparing for Your Training

Potential Project Approach to Mindfulness

Objectives and Expectations

To enhance your learning and support your understanding and comfort with the materials, our Trainer Training program has been designed to be engaging and experiential.

The first two days comprises of a Foundational training program and is in a retreat style format.

The foundational program is designed as an immersive experience, with a strong focus on the practice and the culture of the Potential Project. The intent is to gain a deeper insight into the practice and have opportunities to practice guiding focus and open awareness practices.

The following days will be focused on Organizational Solutions training which will provide ample opportunity to “test drive” PP materials in a safe environment.  You will have the opportunity to observe the facilitators present materials and will work towards presenting a brief session yourself.  All participants will be asked to lead a short session on day 6 using PP content.  You will be provided with your session topic details and slide deck on day 4 so you will have ample time to prepare and practice in groups, as well as with a coach who will provide helpful guidance and feedback.

Your learning journals and the book One Second Ahead will prove very helpful here – don’t forget to pack them.

There will also be sessions on business development, marketing, organisational support and getting started as a trainer with Potential Project.

We recommend you bring your laptop which will be helpful for practicing the flow of the session you will present at the Trainer Training. Having said that, it is important to note that the training schedule is intense, so we recommend keeping your online presence and work related activities to the minimum.

Guidelines

Some guidelines regarding your sessions:

  • We are not looking for creativity in this exercise! Please do not feel the need to do any additional research or try to come up with new ways of leading these sessions although please do feel free to use your own anecdotes.
  • We are not looking for you to use the exact words that Rasmus, Jacqueline or your trainers at the CLTT use, so please do not see the videos or presentations as a precise script. Remember that the objective is for you to feel comfortable, confident, and able to communicate the key messages.
  • You are welcome to make the sessions interactive and we will encourage everyone to help each other make these role-play sessions as real as possible to enhance the learning opportunity.

Sessions

You will be asked to present a part of the modules covered in the online pre-training or the in-person training. Each module has a sample presentation video delivered by Jacqueline and Rasmus which can be found in the different lessons of this course.

A few things to note:

  • You will be asked to select a series of slides from the module that you will be assigned to present keeping in mind the 5-to-7-minute timeframe.
  • These slide decks you will be using are the more recently redesigned. The content is the same as in the video but the slides may be visually different.
  • These slides have “builds” (also called Animations) which means text and images on each slide appear and exit as you click to progress.
  • To be doubly clear, you are not expected to do the entire presentation but just to select a series of slides, from your preferred module, that fits into a 5-7 minute presentation.
